Colman Domingo Talks Double Emmy Noms For ‘Euphoria’ & ‘The Four Seasons’: “The Diversity Of Work Is What I’ve Always Hoped For”
Actor Colman Domingo has received two Emmy nominations announced on Wednesday, recognising two markedly different television roles. He is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for the second instalment of Netflix's The Four Seasons, and for Outstanding Guest Actor for his role as Ali in the third and final season of HBO's Euphoria. Domingo described the dual recognition as a "great joy", saying the diversity of work reflects exactly what he has long hoped to achieve.
His Euphoria nomination is for the series finale, "In God We Trust", in which his character Ali discovers Rue (Zendaya) dead from an overdose and pursues the man responsible. Domingo, who has previously won an Emmy for the role, called those scenes "deeply emotional" and among his best work. He and Zendaya were the only two acting nominations for Euphoria's final season, which earned seven nods overall. Domingo learned of the nominations while holidaying in Europe, as was Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, who was among the first to congratulate him.
