Glamorous Miami TV anchor enrages boss with bikini photos as he warns them to stop their ‘foolish nonsense’

Daily Mail · 1 month ago

Jenise Fernandez, a six-time Emmy-winning anchor at Miami station WPLG Local 10, has drawn attention for posting glamorous photographs on social media — including bikini shots from a trip to Fiji and beach days in Florida — that appear to defy a recent directive from her news boss. The station's vice president of news, Bill Pohovey, warned staff in February to stop using their accounts for "foolish nonsense", making the anchor's continued lifestyle posting a point of apparent friction.

Pohovey's message told employees to stop pretending to be influencers, saying the station did not want "dance videos", "fashion shows", "outfits of the day" or other content that detracted from their standing as journalists. Although his instruction was chiefly aimed at official station accounts — which he said should focus on news, weather and sports and drive traffic to broadcasts — he reportedly extended it to staff's personal pages too. Fernandez, a former Miss Miami, has continued sharing photos of holidays, work events and family occasions.
