Lowri Anderson set aside her childhood passion for musical theatre after her mother Siân died unexpectedly in 2018 following long-standing mental health struggles and alcohol addiction. Rather than pursue West End dreams, the then-18-year-old channelled her experiences into professional work supporting people affected by addiction and homelessness within the criminal justice system in Sheffield. She built a fulfilling career but remained haunted by what she had abandoned.

After suddenly reconnecting with singing and dancing in recent months, Anderson realised the performing arts remained central to her identity. She has now been accepted to London School of Musical Theatre and will begin intensive training this September, having made the significant decision to leave her job and sell her home. Her father expressed relief and joy at watching her reclaim this lost part of herself, whilst Anderson herself views the move as a way to honour her mother's memory and demonstrate that honest discussion around addiction and mental health can lead to recovery and positive change.
