England's footballers took a break from World Cup preparations with a light-hearted diving competition at their training base, ahead of a quarter-final clash with Erling Haaland's Norway. The relaxed session offered a glimpse of the squad's mood as they gear up for a match that could put them within reach of the World Cup final.
Players including Anthony Gordon, Elliot Anderson and Dan Burn took part, but full-back Djed Spence drew the most attention by jumping into the pool with his socks still on. Spence, who came on as a left wing-back in the second-half win over Mexico, was filmed saying "I'm scared" before leaping in and being awarded a modest five out of 10 for his effort, much to the amusement of onlookers.
