Wales drop Rees-Zammit to bench as Costelow starts
Wales have dropped wing Louis Rees-Zammit to the bench for Saturday's Nations Championship match against Argentina in San Juan, with Sam Costelow starting at fly-half. Head coach Steve Tandy has made three changes to the side that beat Fiji 39-24, as Wales seek a third successive Test win — a run they have not managed since the 2023 World Cup — against a Pumas team stung by a home defeat to Scotland.
Ellis Mee comes in on the wing for Rees-Zammit, while Ospreys fly-half Dan Edwards drops out of the 23 entirely after a difficult display against Fiji, leaving Costelow to start and centre Joe Hawkins to provide fly-half cover. James Botham replaces Alex Mann at flanker. Among the replacements, Exeter's Kane James is set for his Test debut and Scarlets hooker Ryan Elias could win his 50th cap. Wales will be wary of Argentina, who inflicted a record 52-28 defeat on them in Tandy's first game in charge in November 2025, and whose lock Guido Petti is set to become the country's sixth centurion.
