Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, has been officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, opening under its new name on Thursday. The change marks another prominent public landmark carrying the Trump name and is tied to the president's long-standing connections to the area, most notably his Mar-a-Lago estate located a few miles from the hub.

Eric Trump celebrated the milestone by taking the first flight into the newly named airport, telling "Fox & Friends" that he touched down aboard Trump Force One at 5:01 a.m. and joking that he was determined not to let a UPS plane land first. The South Florida airport had been known as Palm Beach International for close to half a century before the rebrand. Eric Trump was joined at a ceremonial photo by county administrator Joseph Abruzzo, commissioner Maria Marino and Donald Trump Jr., and said choosing Trump Force One — the aircraft used throughout his father's campaign stops — was a deliberate and symbolic gesture.
