Actor Blair Redford has been cast in a heavily recurring role in Fox's forthcoming reboot of the classic lifeguard action drama Baywatch. Best known for Fox's Marvel series The Gifted and Starz's Three Women, Redford will play Hunter, a rugged, easygoing cameraman who has worked everywhere from Hollywood sets to war zones. He is introduced to the Baywatch team while filming a news special on female first responders, and stays on after sparks fly between him and one of the lifeguards.

The reboot stars Stephen Amell as Hobie Buchannon, now a Baywatch Captain following in the footsteps of his father Mitch, whose world is upended when the daughter he never knew (played by Belkin) arrives wanting to become a lifeguard. The wider cast includes Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader and Noah Beck, alongside returning original stars such as David Chokachi, Erika Eleniak and Michael Bergin. Co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle with Matt Nix as showrunner and McG directing the premiere, Baywatch is set to launch on Fox in January 2027.
