Former Skid Row singer Erik Grönwall has confirmed that he has already begun writing songs for a new solo album, indicating that he intends to keep his focus on his own material going forward. Speaking to Rock Radio UK TV, the 38-year-old Swedish musician said he wants to "keep writing" and tour where it makes sense, following the release of his latest solo record, "Bad Bones", on 22 May.

In the interview, Grönwall reflected warmly on his time with Skid Row and the sole album he recorded with them, "The Gang's All Here" (October 2022, earMUSIC), which he praised despite not writing on it. He acknowledged that some fans will always prefer the original line-up with Sebastian Bach, an influence of his alongside Bon Scott and Robert Plant. Grönwall, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in March 2021, left Skid Row in March 2024 to prioritise his health, with Halestorm's Lzzy Hale later filling in on vocals. He also said the "door is always open" for further collaboration with guitarist Michael Schenker, on whose recent albums he has sung, though his own work is now his priority.
