Dutch DJ Franky Rizardo has withdrawn his remix of Everything But The Girl's 'Missing', made with veteran broadcaster and producer Pete Tong, after John Summit publicly claimed that elements of the track had been taken from work he had originally created with Tong. The dispute matters because it involves three prominent dance-music figures and centres on allegations of creative theft, casting a shadow over a high-profile release that had been due imminently.

Summit alleged on X on 8th July that Tong had promised to release an orchestral remix the pair had worked on together — reportedly via Tong's FFRR label, with talk of performing it live — before abandoning it and reusing elements in the new version with Rizardo. The Rizardo collaboration had been scheduled for release on 17th July, but Rizardo confirmed he would shelve it, saying it "no longer feels right" while stressing he was "not taking sides or blaming anyone" and that it would remain a "set-only track". Tong has not yet responded to the claims, and Summit said he had completed the orchestral version himself and would premiere it that weekend.
