GIL MOORE Says Fan Response To TRIUMPH’s Comeback Tour Was ‘Unbelievable’: ‘It Was 99.99% Positive’

Blabbermouth · 5 hours ago

Triumph drummer and vocalist Gil Moore has described the fan reaction to the Canadian rock band's 2026 comeback tour — their first in more than 30 years — as "unbelievable" and "99.99% positive". Speaking to Jimmy Kay of The Metal Voice, Moore said the reunion won over sceptics who had doubted the band would show up or would rely on backing tapes, insisting every performance was fully live. He recalled seeing fans crying and cheering, and likened the atmosphere to a family reunion.

For the tour, original members Moore and singer/guitarist Rik Emmett were joined by guitarist Phil X (of Bon Jovi and a former Triumph member), plus drummer/keyboardist Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns, both of Slash's Conspirators. Original bassist Mike Levine sat out after revealing in December 2025 that a hand problem prevented him from playing well. The run opened on 10 April in Orlando and, by Moore's account, grew stronger as it progressed — comparing the band to a lawnmower with stale gas that eventually roared to life by the time they reached Texas. Moore hinted at more shows and confirmed a new documentary, a follow-up to "Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine", is partly complete.

  • Triumph's first tour in 30-plus years drew overwhelmingly positive fan response.
  • All shows were fully live, with no backing tapes.
  • More shows and a new documentary are likely to follow.
