A teaser trailer has been released for Buddy, a horror-comedy film in which a bright orange unicorn hosts a seemingly wholesome children's television programme. Directed by Casper Kelly, the film premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and is due to reach cinemas via Roadside Attractions on 28 August. The story follows the cheerful unicorn's turn towards menace after one child declines to join in, revealing that his idyllic world is not what it appears.

The film features an ensemble cast including Cristin Milioti, Keegan-Michael Key, Topher Grace, Delaney Quinn, Patton Oswalt and Michael Shannon, with Key providing the voice of the title character. Kelly, best known for Adult Swim's viral 2014 horror short Too Many Cooks, co-wrote the script with Jamie King. In his review for The Hollywood Reporter, chief film critic David Rooney praised Key's "inspired voice work" but felt the film "doesn't go far enough to be as extreme or disturbing as it wants to be," stretching a sketch-comedy premise to feature length.
