The Evil Dead’s Most Iconic Character Is in ‘Evil Dead Burn’ and You Missed It [Exclusive]

Collider · 1 month ago

Collider has published an exclusive interview tied to the release of Evil Dead Burn, the latest instalment in the horror franchise, revealing that fans may have overlooked two significant cameos hidden in the film. Most notably, the post-credits scene resurrects fan-favourite villain Ellie Bixler, played once again by Alyssa Sutherland, who first appeared in Evil Dead Rise, prompting speculation about whether the character is being set up for a larger return.

Director Sébastien Vanicek told Collider's Perri Nemiroff that Ellie's inclusion was made at the studio's request, adding that he did not know what the studio planned for the future and considered it "their story". Vanicek also confirmed that Bruce Campbell, who voiced a role in Evil Dead Rise, appears in several photographs throughout the film — including a Polaroid and a framed picture by the staircase — implying he plays the family's estranged grandfather. Given the grandfather's research into the Book of the Dead, this has fuelled fan theories that the character could be Ash Williams himself, a possibility Vanicek suggested fans would work out for themselves. The film centres on protagonist Alice, played by Souheila Yacoub, and her fight against the Deadites.
