Convicted South Yorkshire paedophile deleted dating and “encrypted” chat apps along with search history
A 30-year-old Doncaster man previously convicted of possessing indecent images was imprisoned for violating a sexual harm prevention order imposed by the courts. Police discovered that Daniel Snaith had deleted numerous dating and encrypted messaging applications from an unregistered mobile phone, removed search history, and used his ex-girlfriend's laptop with an installed virtual private network to conceal his online activity—over six gigabytes of data removed between August and November.
The judge concluded that Snaith's deliberate breach of court restrictions demonstrated he represented a substantial risk to children and could not be safely managed outside custody. Sentenced to two years and eight months in prison, Snaith was found to have been fully aware of the legal consequences of his actions, having been previously convicted and subjected to strict monitoring conditions.
