Tyler Robinson hearing: Top moments from explosive Lance Twiggs interview played in court

Fox News · 1 month ago

On the fourth day of Tyler Robinson's preliminary hearing in Provo, Utah, prosecutors played a video interview in which Lance Twiggs, Robinson's former roommate and romantic partner, told investigators that the accused killer "wishes he hadn't done it." Robinson stands accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, and the testimony matters because the hearing will determine whether the case proceeds to trial. Twiggs recounted asking Robinson in person whether what he had said the night before was true, saying Robinson confirmed it, began crying and expressed regret.

According to the report, Kirk was shot and killed on 10 September 2025 while speaking at his "American Comeback Tour" event at Utah Valley University. Prosecutors say Robinson took credit for the shooting in text messages exchanged with Twiggs the night before their in-person conversation. The video was originally due to be shown on the Wednesday, but the defence requested that the judge order redactions, and after negotiations over its content it was played on the Thursday morning, with Robinson reportedly watching closely. Twiggs is cooperating with investigators and has not been charged, though prosecutors say the DNA of both men was allegedly found on key evidence in the case.

  • Ex-partner testified Robinson cried and said he regretted killing Kirk.
  • Video played on day four of Provo preliminary hearing.
  • Robinson allegedly claimed credit via texts; Twiggs uncharged and cooperating.
