Duran completes switch to Celtic from Qarabag
Celtic have confirmed the signing of Colombian forward Camilo Duran from Azerbaijani club Qarabag on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old is the Scottish champions' first summer signing and the first Colombian player in the club's history, a milestone he described as an honour as he set his sights on scoring goals in the Champions League.
Duran arrives having scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists last season, including five goals in 10 Champions League appearances for Qarabag, the Azerbaijan Premier League runners-up. He joined Qarabag last summer from Portuguese second-tier side Portimonense, and is now back in Portugal at Celtic's pre-season training camp. He said there was "absolutely no doubt" in his mind when he learned of Celtic's interest, adding that he hopes to repay the manager with his performances.
