Wife of wealthy AI boss who was ‘found with stab wound to the chest in downstairs bathroom’ of £2.5m home was arrested, inquest hears
An inquest has opened into the death of Neil Muller, the 54-year-old chief executive of technology firm Node4, who was found with a fatal stab wound to the chest at his home in Warwickshire. Coventry Coroner's Court heard that Mr Muller's wife was arrested following his death, which is being investigated by police, making this a significant case involving a prominent figure in the technology industry.
The court heard that Mr Muller was discovered in a downstairs bathroom off the kitchen at his £2.5m, five-bedroom home in the affluent village of Claverdon on 7 June. Paramedics called police after reporting a man had been stabbed in the chest, and he was in cardiac arrest when ambulance crews arrived, being pronounced dead at 6.37am. Coroner Sean McGovern said Mr Muller had a single stab wound to the chest as well as superficial cuts to his wrist and neck, with a weapon found nearby in the sink. His wife was arrested and the scene was forensically examined, while a post-mortem examination has produced a provisional cause of death.
