Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey’s ‘Sunday in the Park With George’ Revival Delays Ticket Sales Until Fall
Ticket sales for the London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park With George”, starring Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, have been pushed back until the autumn. The delay does not affect the production itself, which is still scheduled to open next summer, but it matters because the show is expected to attract heavy demand and producers appear to be timing the launch to avoid disruption while Grande is still on tour.
Tickets had originally been due to go on sale in May, but producers are now expected to wait until after Grande’s “The Eternal Sunshine Tour” ends on 1 September, following a 10-night residency at London’s O2 Arena. Grande will play Dot and Marie, while Bailey will play painter Georges Seurat; the revival is being directed by Marianne Elliott with design by Tom Scutt. The production is planned for the Barbican Centre, with an early June 2027 start being targeted, and auditions for the remaining roles are reportedly taking place this summer.
