Music Business Worldwide · 1 month ago

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has promoted David Goldsen to Executive Vice President, A&R, the publisher announced on 15 July. Goldsen, based in Los Angeles, will continue reporting to Ryan Press, President of North America at WCM, and the move reflects the company's recognition of his role in developing successful songwriters over a long tenure at the firm.

Goldsen joined Warner Chappell in 2009 and has spent 17 years there, working with artists including Zach Bryan, Sleep Token, Teddy Swims and Mitski, whom he signed in 2018 before her single "My Love Mine All Mine" became a hit in 2023. He has also contributed to the development of Vance Joy, the Red Clay Strays and Tones and I, with previous roles including Vice President, Creative and Head of A&R, Australia (2022) and Senior Vice President, North America A&R (2024); he was also named to Billboard's 40 Under 40 list in 2024. The promotion comes amid a string of recent WCM hires and strong results for its songwriters, including Amy Allen's Grammy wins, and follows the company reporting a 9.6% year-on-year rise in publishing revenues to $353 million for Q1 2026.
