Brandon Flowers releases new solo single Paradise

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has released "Paradise", the second advance single from his upcoming solo album Thrasher, his first solo record in 11 years. The song follows lead single "Plans" and continues the country-tinged direction he pursued by recording in Nashville with producers Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, both of whom have worked on recent Killers albums.
Where "Plans" was described as an epic ballad, "Paradise" is a looser, disco-country-inflected track on which Flowers sings about his family's history working in the Las Vegas casino industry. In a social media statement, he framed the release as a deliberate response to Phil Collins' 1989 hit "Another Day In Paradise", saying he was "returning" the song "to its rightful owner". Thrasher is due out on 21 August via Island Records.
