Deadline · 4 weeks ago

Casting has been expanded for "Kaet Might Die," a dark comedy directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan and adapted from Kaet McAnneny's cancer memoir "Boobs Gone Rogue." Jimmi Simpson, Ben Wang and Zosia Mamet join the film, which has now wrapped production, alongside previously announced leads Awkwafina, Anthony Ramos and Ken Jeong.

The story follows a woman (played by Awkwafina) whose seemingly perfect life is upended by a cancer diagnosis, forcing her to lean on humour and imagination to navigate a collapsing marriage and demanding family. Other new additions include J.B. Yowell, who also serves as an executive producer, plus Lauren Tom, Katherine Lunam, Sharon Azrieli and Ana Ruiz de Porras. The film is backed by five production companies, including Balcony 9 Productions and Invention Studios, with a lengthy list of producers and executive producers, while CAA and Capture Entertainment are handling domestic sales.
