Michaela Watkins To Star In Jessica Sanders’ Improvised Indie Comedy ‘I Want To Feel Fun’

Deadline · 1 month ago

Filming has wrapped on "I Want to Feel Fun", an improvised indie comedy from documentary-maker Jessica Sanders, marking her first narrative feature. The film stars Michaela Watkins, known for "Hacks", and expands on Sanders' short of the same name, which premiered at Tribeca last year, blending professional actors with non-professional performers in an entirely improvised story.

The ensemble also includes Avi Rothman, Lilah Pate, Vivian Bang, Dave Merheje, Kiran Deol, Zainne Saleh, Finn Harry, Andrew Key and Gene Kang. Sanders, whose documentary credits include the Sundance-winning "After Innocence" and Oscar-nominated "Sing!", described the project as a love letter to Los Angeles woven from intersecting stories of love and connection. It is produced by Sanders and Patricia Seely, with executive producers from Reboot Studios and Wavelength, and is now in post-production at Wavelength's Los Angeles facility.
