Desiigner Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge in South Carolina
Rapper Desiigner (Sidney Selby III), best known for his 2016 hit "Panda", was arrested on Wednesday 15 July in South Carolina on a second-degree domestic violence charge, according to Horry County Sheriff's Office records. He was booked at 2:21 p.m. ET and remained in custody without bail at the time of reporting. The arrest is his second on domestic violence-related charges within a few months and adds to a growing list of legal troubles for the artist.
Alongside the domestic violence charge, Desiigner faces three counts of malicious injury to animals and to personal property valued between $2,000 and $10,000, each carrying a maximum five-year prison sentence. A police report cited by Complex alleges he argued with his girlfriend, the mother of his child, over wall-mounted televisions, then smashed her phones with a hammer; she reportedly fled to a neighbour's house, where Desiigner allegedly damaged a car and windows while trying to get in, and also pushed her and threw her purse over a fence. He was previously arrested on a third-degree domestic violence charge in South Carolina in March, posting a $1,500 bond, and faced indecent exposure allegations in April 2023 aboard a Delta flight; his representatives had not responded to requests for comment.
