Deadline · 4 hours ago

Netflix has released a trailer for the closing episode of "100 Years Of Solitude" Part Two, with several cast members speaking exclusively to Deadline about the challenge of adapting Gabriel García Márquez's celebrated novel, long considered unfilmable. Colombian star Margarita Rosa de Francisco, who plays Fernanda del Carpio, joined Part Two alongside Estefanía Piñeres, Emmanuel Restrepo and Sebastián Osorio, and described the pressure of doing justice to such a revered text while trusting the show's writers to guide the adaptation.

The eight-episode Part Two is already streaming, with a special standalone finale due on 26 August. Season two was written by José Rivera, Natalia Santa, Camila Brugés and María Camila Arias, with Laura Mora and Carlos Moreno directing seven of the eight episodes and Alex García López (The Witcher) helming the finale. Cast members highlighted the scale of the Bogotá-based production, run by Dynamo, which employed around 1,500 people and local artisans to recreate the fictional town of Macondo, giving a significant boost to Colombia's television industry.
