## Key points

- Jane’s finale offers closure after years of grief.
- Lisbon’s wedding and pregnancy are framed as rewards for Jane.
- The article says her own character arc gets little attention.

## Summary

The article argues that *The Mentalist*’s 2015 finale gave Patrick Jane a satisfying resolution but left Teresa Lisbon’s character underserved. It says the wedding and pregnancy reveal fulfil viewers’ hopes for the couple, while framing Lisbon mainly as a reward in Jane’s story.

The finale, “A Twist of Fate”, sees Jane and Lisbon use their wedding as a ruse to catch the serial killer Lazarus, then complete the ceremony. The article contrasts this with Jane’s journey from grief and revenge after his wife and daughter were murdered, saying his new family signals a chance to move on. It argues Lisbon’s own growth is not given comparable weight, continuing a pattern in which her rule-following leadership and character are overshadowed by Jane’s antics.
