Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the two-season Fox series that aired from 2008 to 2009, has begun climbing the Apple TV Store charts nearly two decades after it first premiered. The renewed interest highlights how the show, often overlooked amid a run of disappointing Terminator films, is increasingly regarded as the strongest continuation of James Cameron's original franchise, offering a more thoughtful and character-driven take than the action-heavy sequels that followed it.

The series follows Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) and her son John (Thomas Dekker) as they go on the run after the events of Terminator 2, aided by a protector Terminator known as Cameron (Summer Glau) sent back from the future. It launched in a difficult period, arriving during the 2007–08 Writers' Strike and alongside development of the film Terminator Salvation, yet built out a more complex mythology with an expanded cast, including FBI Agent James Ellison (Richard T.
