2026’s Hidden-Gem Sci-Fi Thriller Is Officially a Global Streaming Smash
Redux Redux, a low-budget science-fiction thriller from brothers Kevin and Matthew McManus, has become a surprise streaming hit after a modest theatrical run earlier in 2026. The film has climbed to fifth place among the most-watched titles on Hulu in the US, offering a rare moment of recognition for a project that had largely flown under the radar since its festival debut.
The film premiered at South by Southwest in 2025 before receiving a limited theatrical release in February 2026, and stars Michaela McManus, sister of the directing duo, as lead character Irene Kelly. Notably, Redux Redux has achieved a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than the year's big-budget sci-fi hit Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, though from far fewer reviews. It now trails only Ready or Not 2: Here I Come atop Hulu's most-watched chart, while Project Hail Mary continues to dominate Prime Video following its near-$700 million box office haul.
