- The film has earned $400 million worldwide.
- Verity is the only film ahead of it.

## Summary

Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil reboot has become a streaming hit in the US as its theatrical run fades, ranking second among films on Amazon’s charts. Its strong home viewing adds to a successful release, contrasting with the weaker performance of another recent video game adaptation, Street Fighter.

In seven weeks, Resident Evil has earned $400 million worldwide against a $75 million production budget and holds a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. It has moved ahead of titles including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Obsession and Practical Magic 2; only Verity, starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, ranks above it.
