Masters of the Universe, a live-action He-Man adaptation from Mattel Films, has reached number one in Prime Video’s worldwide film chart after disappointing at cinemas. Its streaming success matters because it suggests the film has found a larger audience after failing to recoup its reported production budget theatrically.

Starring Nicholas Galitzine as Adam Glenn/He-Man, the film follows the former Prince of Eternia as he returns to fight a skeletal-faced enemy and his army. It reportedly earned $114 million worldwide against a $170 million budget, despite taking $11.7 million on its opening day and more than $29 million domestically during its opening weekend; a sequel has not been confirmed.
