24 Years Later, Christian Bale’s 107-Minute Sci-Fi Cult Classic Is Back on Streaming

Collider · 4 hours ago

Christian Bale's 2002 sci-fi film Equilibrium has become available to stream on Paramount+ in the US, giving fans a chance to revisit an early cult favourite while they wait for his upcoming, more high-profile projects. The film was largely overlooked and struggled commercially on its original release, but has since built a growing fanbase and is often described as blending elements of The Matrix and John Wick.

Equilibrium runs 107 minutes and also stars Emily Watson, Taye Diggs, Angus Macfadyen and Sean Bean. Its arrival on Paramount+ comes as Bale, now 24 years into his career since the film's release, prepares for two major new roles: opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Michael Mann's long-awaited Heat sequel, based on the novel Heat 2, with filming expected to begin in November, and alongside Nicolas Cage in the sports biopic Madden, directed by David O. Russell.
