## Summary

Four-year-old Cobee Cooks was found dead in an upstairs closet at an Atlanta home during a police welfare check. Two women have been arrested and charged in connection with his death, which authorities say involved severe injuries and apparent repeated abuse.

An arrest warrant says Cobee died from multiple blunt force injuries and injuries to his liver and spleen; police reported more than 20 injuries, including cuts, burns and broken bones. Jasmaine Smoak, described as a friend of his mother and his caretaker, was arrested near Augusta after leaving Atlanta with Cobee’s five-year-old brother and two other children. Jasmine Jenkins, who was staying in the home, was also arrested. The investigation began after Smoak’s father called 911 to report that a child was unresponsive.
