4 Years Later, Liam Neeson’s Failed Spy Thriller Is Officially Back From the Dead
Liam Neeson's 2022 action thriller Blacklight is set to stream for free on Plex from 1 September 2026, four years after it flopped both critically and commercially. The film, directed and co-written by Mark Williams, saw Neeson play a government operative confronting secrets from his past, but it was savaged by critics and struggled at the box office despite Neeson's usual box-office draw and acclaimed career.
Blacklight starred Aidan Quinn and Taylor John Smith alongside Neeson, and marked Williams's second collaboration with the actor after 2020's Honest Thief. It took just $15 million against a $43 million budget and scored only 11% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, who called it "generic" and unengaging, though audiences were considerably more forgiving, rating it 82% on the same platform.
