Dark Horse Comics will publish a four-issue Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft series beginning on 16 September, expanding on the popular Ravenloft setting and its characters from Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft. The comic follows monster hunter Ezmerelda d’Avenir and other protégés of Rudolph van Richten as they attempt to save the world, providing a story-based follow-up to a D&D sourcebook that was later updated for newer rules.

Ez becomes stranded in the frozen domain of Lamordia, where the Darklord Viktra Mordenheim captures her for experiments; she must escape with help from a mysterious newcomer while guided by Erasmus van Richten’s ghost. Amy Chu writes the series, with art by Ariela Kristantina, colours by Arif Prianto and lettering by Haley Rose-Lyon; the debut issue will also feature variant covers by five artists.
