Producer Simon Kinberg has revealed that the cancelled Fox X-Force film was intended to feature a major Marvel Cinematic Universe actor as the fan-favourite villain Mister Sinister. The disclosure offers a glimpse of how Fox planned to expand its X-Men films before Disney acquired the studio and halted the project.

The film was announced in 2018, with Drew Goddard attached to write and direct, and was expected to bring together characters including Deadpool, Cable and Domino. It was cancelled after Disney’s purchase of 21st Century Fox, leaving its proposed cast and storyline unrealised.
