- Opening montage recreates obscure villain comic covers like Ramrod and Tarantula.

## Summary

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day", the fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has arrived and is being praised for its dense array of cameos and comic-book references. Director Destin Daniel Cretton and star Tom Holland have packed the film with nods to niche Spider-Man villains, returning MCU characters and notable actors, reflecting a clear affection for the character's comic-book history.

Collider's ranking highlights appearances such as Cindy Moon (Silk), briefly seen as a classmate in Peter Parker's university class taught by Bruce Banner, and an opening montage recreating classic comic covers featuring lesser-known villains including Ramrod (from Amazing Spider-Man #221, 1981) and Tarantula (from Amazing Spider-Man #134, 1974). The list underscores how the film balances big-name references with obscure deep cuts for longtime comic readers.
