Bo Burnham’s 2018 coming-of-age film Eighth Grade will be available to stream free on Plex from 1 September 2026. The film, starring Elsie Fisher as an anxious 13-year-old navigating her final week of middle school and her online identity, remains widely regarded as one of the strongest coming-of-age films of the past decade.

Burnham’s directorial debut was made for about $2 million and earned almost $15 million worldwide, largely in the United States. It holds a 99% Rotten Tomatoes score, and actor Molly Ringwald praised it in 2018 as a rare film that genuinely speaks to teenagers.
