A nonprofit founded in memory of a man killed while helping colleagues evacuate the World Trade Center's South Tower on 11 September 2001 has launched an artificial intelligence tool designed to support people through grief and trauma. Doora, created by Hold the Door in honour of Ronald Fazio Sr, was unveiled on the 25th anniversary of the attacks by his son, Rob Fazio, who founded the organisation. The chatbot is intended to offer an accessible option for those who cannot access or are reluctant to seek traditional therapy or support from family and friends.

The 24/7 tool, described by Fazio as a "growth guide", provides voice and text support and was developed by a team of lawyers, psychologists and business leaders drawing on 24 years of research into post-traumatic growth. Fazio said the aim is to meet people where they are emotionally and psychologically, rather than waiting for them to seek help, and to give users a gentle push towards their future while honouring what they have lost. Hold the Door also runs free workshops and community grief programmes, continuing what Fazio has described as fulfilling a promise made at his father's memorial service to keep his quiet legacy "loud".
