## Key points

- Steam has discounted classic GTA games until 19 November.
- GTA 4 is on sale for $6.
- GTA 3’s Definitive Edition still draws poor reviews.

## Summary

Rockstar has discounted several classic Grand Theft Auto games on Steam until GTA 6 launches on 19 November, giving players a chance to revisit the series ahead of its next instalment. The deal includes GTA 4 for $6 and the Definitive Edition Trilogy, though the article argues that one game in the collection, GTA 3, remains a poor purchase for many players.

The trilogy was criticised at launch for graphical and technical problems, and the issues have since been patched to varying degrees. Steam reviews for the GTA 3 PC version have worsened over time, with players citing bugs, performance dips, broken cinematics, visual problems and Rockstar launcher interference; some also dislike its older, less polished design. Grove Street Games’ chief executive said much of the launch criticism was deserved, while noting that many players still enjoyed the games.
