A New Era for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Begins in First Trailer for Sequel Series
Paramount has released the first trailer for Avatar: Seven Havens, a new animated sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender, at San Diego Comic-Con. The series marks a new chapter in the franchise by presenting an Avatar whom the public regards as a destroyer rather than a saviour, creating a markedly different premise from the stories of Aang and Korra.
Created by original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, the 26-episode 2D series will premiere on 9 October 2026. It follows a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, as she and her long-lost twin seek to uncover their origins and protect the Seven Havens after a cataclysm devastates the world; the teaser also includes an older Korra.
