## Key points

- Donald and Garrett joked about Donald’s botched fumble recovery.
- Garrett has been on injured reserve since the season opener.
- Their pairing could complicate opponents’ protection plans.

## Summary

Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett shared a light-hearted moment at Rams practice, reenacting Donald’s failed attempt to recover a fumble and score against the Chargers. Their laughter offered a welcome break from a season marked by injuries and frustration, while their first sustained practices together suggest the Rams may soon have both star defenders available.

Donald returned from retirement in August, but is still seeking his first sack this season and has often faced double-teams. Garrett has been on injured reserve since the season opener, when he injured his left knee and later needed surgery. The Rams could have him back for Sunday’s game against Washington; his presence may force opponents to choose which pass rusher to give extra protection.
