Aaron Eckhart, Brenton Thwaites and Bella Samman have been cast in "Out of the Ashes", a post-apocalyptic action thriller directed by Steven C. Miller, with filming recently completed in Kentucky. The project is being brought to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival market, continuing a wave of star-led genre pictures seeking distribution deals at the event.

The film follows a former soldier, played by Eckhart, trying to protect his young daughter, played by Samman, as they flee marauders in a world devastated by a mysterious pandemic. It is written by Chad Law and Dick Grunert, produced by Sagiv Diamant and Jordan Dykstra (who is also handling worldwide sales via Ignite Pictures), and also stars Autumn Reeser, Don Worley, Michael Regan and Kira Reed. The film marks a reunion between Miller and Eckhart, who previously worked together on 2019's "Line of Duty".
