## Key points

- Jordan picked Aaron as his most trusted AFC playoff quarterback.
- He cited Pittsburgh’s defence, running game and Aaron’s experience.
- The brothers’ public comments sit alongside reports of a still-distant relationship.

## Summary

Jordan Rodgers has publicly backed his brother Aaron as the AFC quarterback he would trust most in the playoffs, despite reports that the brothers are only “cordial”. His comments offer a rare positive public assessment amid years of family estrangement and conflicting accounts of how much the brothers have reconciled.

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, Jordan said Pittsburgh’s strong defence and running game reduce the demands on 42-year-old Aaron, making his experience and past MVP awards valuable. Aaron said in September that he and Jordan were back together after reuniting with other family members, though Jordan was absent from photos Aaron shared in July; Aaron had also criticised the airing of their family dispute during Jordan’s 2016 Bachelorette appearance.
