ABC’s ‘High Potential’ Replacement Officially Sets Release Date

Collider · 3 hours ago

ABC has confirmed that its "High Potential" replacement, "R.J. Decker" (previously known as "RJ Decker" Season 2), will return on Tuesday, 15 September, making it the first of the network's scripted primetime shows to premiere for the 2026/27 season. The announcement follows CBS's release of its own autumn premiere schedule and fills a gap left by "High Potential", ABC's top-rated series, whose third season has been held back for midseason.

Scott Speedman reprises his role as the ex-convict-turned-private-investigator, joined by returning cast members Jaina Lee Ortiz, Bevin Bru, Kevin Rankin and Adelaide Clemens. The series, created by Carl Hiaasen and Rob Doherty, debuted in March 2026 to strong ratings, drawing more than 11 million views across Disney's platforms, and the new season will pick up from a cliffhanger finale as Decker continues working to clear his name.
