A wanted murder suspect was arrested at Port Canaveral, Florida, after deputies checked cruise passengers against outstanding warrants and found him attempting to board a ship. The arrest was one of several made during the sweep, which the local sheriff wryly referred to as sending detainees to his "Iron Bar Lodge" instead of on their planned cruise holiday.

Deputies identified six passengers in total with outstanding warrants or alleged probation violations while screening people preparing to board at Port Canaveral, one of Florida's busiest cruise ports. Among them was a man wanted on a fugitive warrant connected to a murder case, who was taken into custody before he could depart. The sheriff's office publicised the operation with the tongue-in-cheek headline "Oh Ship!!"
