ITV has released the first trailer for the fourth season of its hit crime drama Trigger Point, confirming the return of Vicky McClure's bomb disposal officer Lana Washington. The show, created by Jed Mercurio (who is also behind the returning Line of Duty), has been one of ITV's biggest recent successes and has found a dedicated audience in the US via Peacock, making its comeback significant for both British and American crime drama fans.

In the trailer, Washington faces her toughest challenge yet, warning that "these bombers know how we work," while the new series also introduces Julie Graham as Commander Nia Quentin. Trigger Point drew an average of 7.8 million viewers for its first season, 6.86 million for its second, and 5.1 million for its third, still ranking among ITV's top-performing shows. ITV's director of drama, Polly Hill, said audiences would again be "on the edge of their seat," though the trailer itself is currently only viewable by audiences in Great Britain.
