An actor involved in Marvel’s cancelled New Warriors series has shared a behind-the-scenes image showing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s unused version of Squirrel Girl. The reveal has renewed attention on the project, which was developed but never released, and offers fans a rare glimpse of a character who has not otherwise appeared in the MCU.

The actor said photographs were prohibited during production, making the image an unusual look at the planned adaptation. Squirrel Girl was to have featured in New Warriors, a comedy series announced in 2017 before its planned broadcaster Freeform declined to proceed and the show was ultimately cancelled.
