Actor Celyn Jones has described working alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones on the upcoming film "A Visit to Grampa's" as reaching "peak Welshness," calling the experience a "homecoming" and a "culture moment." The film, an adaptation of Dylan Thomas's short story, follows a young boy sent to spend a summer with his eccentric grandfather on a Welsh farm, and its production has generated significant local interest, with hundreds gathering in Dolgellau in April to watch filming take place.

Jones recounted singing the Welsh song Myfanwy while Hopkins played piano and Zeta-Jones served drinks, joking he only needed Charlotte Church to call bingo to complete the scene. He also praised Hopkins, who plays Grampa, for his generosity with fans in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, describing the experience as "egoless." Dylan Thomas, born in Swansea in 1914 and who died in 1953 aged 39, remains one of Wales's most celebrated writers, known for works including Under Milk Wood. Jones also stars in another upcoming Welsh film, "On the Sea," shot on Anglesey, in which he plays a mussel farmer alongside a storyline exploring a married man's questioning of his sexuality.
