Adam Driver Is Officially Trading Star Wars for ‘X-Men’
Disney and Marvel Studios have announced that Adam Driver will play Mister Sinister in the forthcoming X-Men reboot, marking his move from the Star Wars sequel trilogy to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The casting gives the new mutant team a major antagonist and signals that Marvel is accelerating development of one of its most prominent remaining comic-book franchises.
The announcement was made at D23, after years of speculation around Marvel’s plans for the X-Men. Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts, is set to direct, while Lee Sung Jin of Beef and Joanna Calo of The Bear are writing the screenplay; Marvel has previously introduced mutant-related groundwork through projects including Ms. Marvel.
