Adobe has launched a new plugin that gives ChatGPT users access to more than 70 of its creative and productivity tools, including Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign. It builds on Adobe's earlier integration of Photoshop, Acrobat and Adobe Express into OpenAI's chatbot via the Apps SDK, and marks a significant expansion of the company's push to embed its software directly within generative AI platforms rather than keeping users confined to its own apps.

Users can add the plugin through ChatGPT's settings menu and invoke it by typing "@Adobe" followed by a request, with Adobe noting it works best within OpenAI's Codex coding app and its recently launched Work suite. Signing in with a Creative Cloud account lets users save work across sessions, access cloud-stored files, and tap Adobe's Firefly generative models, though the plugin can also be used without logging in. Adobe vice president Forest Key stressed the tool is not meant to replace its flagship applications, which remain aimed at professionals needing more detailed creative control. The plugin rolled out worldwide today.
