K-pop group aespa has released the official music video for "Switchblade," their collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, shortly after performing the song live for the first time during the group's debut appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago. The release capitalises on momentum from an eventful festival weekend and continues to promote material from the quartet's second studio album, which entered the Billboard 200 at number nine.

Ty Dolla $ign joined members KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER and NINGNING on stage at Grant Park on 2 August for the surprise live debut of "Switchblade" during a 14-song set that also included hits such as "Black Mamba," "Next Level" and "Armageddon," alongside other new tracks from the album LEMONADE. The accompanying video departs from the group's usual sci-fi visual style, instead placing the members in a colourful, lighthearted high-school setting with energetic choreography. Ty Dolla $ign later praised the collaboration, calling the Lollapalooza show "unforgettable."
