After 15 Years, inFAMOUS 2’s Online Features Are Coming to an End

Push Square · 2 hours ago

Sony has announced that the online user-generated content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2, the PlayStation 3 superhero action game released around 15 years ago, will be shut down on 31st August 2026. While the game is primarily a single-player experience, players could create custom missions and share them with the community, and it is this online sharing service that is being retired, marking another step in the gradual closure of legacy PS3 online support.

After the cut-off date, players will no longer be able to access, browse, upload, download, or play UGC missions through the game's servers, though offline features including the main campaign will remain fully playable. Sony attributed the closure to "ongoing technical considerations". Notably, three of the game's trophies require engaging with the UGC features, meaning that earning the platinum trophy will become impossible once the servers go offline at the end of August.

  • inFAMOUS 2's online UGC missions shut down on 31st August 2026.
  • Offline play and the main campaign remain unaffected.
  • The platinum trophy becomes unobtainable after the servers close.
